Take Me Home by m3d1um

#031 - Take Me Home - 2008

This is probably the best recording I've done from my bedroom which is really good because it means I'm making progress as far as all that goes. This was written right after I got sober. It was written for the person who brought on that change and really is about who I was before all of that and looking back on it, this was kind of a thank you to her for putting up with my chaos. Also it's literally about getting a ride home from a bar because I was always too drunk to drive. Rough times.

Hope you like. Peace out.

what am i to say another rainy day

Rainy Days by m3d1um

#030 - Rainy Days aka "Throwing Pens" - 2003

So this song was written in probably sometime between 10:30 and 4 AM during a late night "jam" with my man Gooch in 2003 (possibly 2004 cuz those years are kind of a blur and I'm too lazy to check). Here are some facts:

  • Original recording I counted this song off with a lighter.
  • The lyrics have not changed much from when I wrote them that night and that USUALLY doesn't happen.
  • I wrote a song about rain before moving to Seattle was even on the horizon.
  • We were listening to lots of Alice In Chains during the period this was written and I have proof from when PARTYBOI got drunk and kept eating aluminum cans and quoting lines from "Rooster".
  • This is the first version of this with multiple guitars and drums etc.
  • This was called Throwing Pens for a long time because I think I was throwing pens at Gooch while he was trying to play or something like that.
Anyway, hope you like it. I'm not sure how I feel about the vocals yet because I was doing harmonies but they weren't working for me tonight.

PS - Reworking jamz you wrote during your "lost" era kind of rules the universe.

Pink Cloud by m3d1um

#029 - Pink Cloud - 2010

This is a little noisy because there was a wind storm tonight but overall I'm really happy with this tune. It's a weird deal because it's sort of about two things or maybe it's just about one. I'm not sure. I could say a lot about this because it became something completely different from what I expected but it's completely mine. That's what important. "Self-Destructor" is close to half done or close to all the way done but there will be some track shifting before I make the decision on the final tracklist. Love this.

underneath the bridge top has sprung a leak.

Something in the Way by m3d1um

#028 - Something in the Way - Nirvana - 2009

When I decided to demo 100 songs I recorded 2 tracks the first night. #001 - Shattered which I wrote in college and what is now #028 - Something in the Way which is a Nirvana cover. I was reluctant to release it because it's a Nirvana cover and I live in Seattle. But I decided today I don't care. This actually was and could still be part of an effort to cover the entire Nevermind album but we'll see. This stands okay on its own. I have more to post so I hope you like. :)

eventually to me all you'll be is a song...

Cardigan by m3d1um

#027 - Cardigan - 2010

I wrote this tonight. It's totally about my sweater. I dig my sweater but I can't really pay as much attention to it as I could when I first acquired it for various reasons that shall go unexplained. Sucks. Really really like the sweater. Was/is one of my favorite things. I was incredibly happy when I got the sweater and we had some good times and then one day it just wasn't an option anymore. Not really the sweater's fault and not really my fault. Still kind of hurt even though it was more external issues that have cut off the good vibes between my sweater and myself. Now it's just awkward because some days I really want to wear it but I know I can't. I hope you like the song. :)

Also I just ripped my pajamas and so I now need to get new ones tomorrow or have totally grunge pajamas.
